Explore this traditional community next to the Bang Pee Lok canal. Go back to basics by immersing yourself in the life of an orchard farmer, simple yet full of local wisdom. The community is hidden in the shade of looming coconut trees next to the famous Bang Pee Lok canal, which is connected to Amphawa canal, a branch of Mae Klong River. Learn more about life here at this waterside community nestled among the lush mangrove plants and vast coconut orchard through stories told by the locals. Enjoy delicious set meals cooked with locally-sourced ingredients; let your creativity flow with a tie-dye workshop using coconut shell dye; and be amazed by the spectacular sunset over the canal in the evening.
Late morning | Head to Samut Songkhram, the land of mackerel. |
Visit the orchard and see how coconut sugar is made. | |
See how coconut blossoms are cut and explore the coconut orchard. | |
Taste fresh syrup right off the blossoms. Help simmer the sugar, pour it into the containers and bring some home as a special souvenir. | |
Noon | Fill your stomach with Pad Thai with shrimp, cooked following a special recipe. |
